On Saturday, May 4, hundreds of people will gather in Downtown Charlottesville to “Walk for SARA”. Everyone is invited to proclaim their solidarity with the sexual assault prevention movement by walking together with SARA staff, volunteers, educators, students, law enforcement officers, elected officials and other community members.
Walk for SARA is less than two miles. We welcome everyone, including those unable to walk the Mall with us, to join us at the Free Speech Wall at 11:00am for art, music and fellowship. Those that can walk are encouraged to pre-register as an individual or to create a team.
Three ways you can participate:
Your generosity to “Walk for SARA” goes towards the Sexual Assault Resource Agency's counseling, advocacy and support services for local sexual assault survivors and their families, as well as prevention education programs in local middle and high schools. SARA is the only agency to provide these services in the city of Charlottesville and the counties of Albemarle, Fluvanna, Greene, Louisa and Nelson.
