The SARA Office is located at 335 Greenbrier Drive, Suite 102. The parking lot has handicap parking spaces. A ramp is accessible on the street-side entrance of the building. There is no automatic door opener. Let us know if you need help with the door and we can arrange for someone to meet you.
Accessible public transportation to the SARA Office: Take the CAT Route 5 Commonwealth Drive to the stop at the corner of Commonwealth Drive and Greenbrier Drive.
JAUNT: Charlottesville also provides origin-to-destination service through JAUNT for those who are unable to use the fixed route systems. The service is offered at a reduced fare to individuals with disabilities—$1.50 per ride. You can request services through JAUNT.
We provide reasonable accommodations to people who work, volunteer, or receive services at SARA. In-person Interpreters: SARA partners with the International Rescue Committee to provide Interpreter Services during business hours. We request at least three days notice to schedule with interpreters. Languages available for in-person interpretation include: Arabic, Bosnian/Croatian/Serbian, Cantonese (Chinese), Dari, Ewe, Farsi, French, Kinyarwanda, Kirundi, Korean, Lingala, Mandarin (Chinese), Mai Mai, Nepali, Pashtu, Russian, Spansih, Swahili, Urdu, Uzbek, and Vietnamese.
Remote Interpreters: SARA partners with the Language Line to provide remote Interpreter Services by telephone.
We welcome service animals to the office. If you would like to notify us before your arrival, we can make accommodations for pets and therapy animals, who may be in our office, to remain at a distance.
People with hearing impairments can use the Virginia Relay service to reach us: Dial 711
The Virginia Relay service enables telephone conversations between standard voice telephone users and people who are deaf, hard of hearing, deafblind or speech-impaired and use a TTY, Voice CarryOver Phone or Hearing Carryover Phone. Virginia Relay offers many features for Spanish users, including Spanish-to-English and English-to-Spanish translation and Speech-To-Speech (STS). To access these services, dial 7-1-1 and tell the Communications Assistant (CA) which type of translation you need.
Additional accommodations may include materials in different formats like Braille/audio/large print, and ASL interpreting.
