The Annual Annette DeGregoria Grimm Award Celebration is named for one of SARA's Executive Directors. The event honors an ordinary citizen or professional who has made extraordinary contributions to the elimination of sexual violence in our community. These contributions can include volunteer work or legislative activities. The people who attend the awards celebration include professionals and volunteers in social services, nursing, county and city agencies, other non-profit organizations and the private sector. This years honorees are The Forensic Nurse Examiners at the University of Virginia Hospital.
This year's theme is Advocates, Allies & Survivors; Amplifying Our Voices. The keynote address will be Christopher Kilmartin, Retired Professor of Psychology, Mary Washington University, “Gender and Violence Prevention".
