The therapy team at SARA is committed to providing trauma-informed therapy services with attention to each person’s individual experience and needs. We are able to offer long-term therapy services to allow clients whatever time and space they need to process and heal from their traumatic experiences. We offer weekly, one-hour therapy for clients with masters-level or licensed therapists trained in various treatment modalities. Trauma treatment is often a phased process, where we first focus on building a relationship with our clients and earning their trust. We provide information about the impact of trauma on the body and the brain so people can better understand the symptoms they are experiencing and why. We focus on building internal safety by strengthening coping skills and the ability to feel more grounded in their body. Trauma treatment is often not a straight line, so each person’s experience in therapy will be different and unique to them.
Our therapists are typically trained in one or more of the following interventions: Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectic Behavioral Therapy (DBT), Internal Family Systems (IFS), and/or other experiential modalities. While we each have our own therapeutic styles and ways we prefer to work, we each believe:
Our ultimate goal is to help clients deepen their understanding of what happened to them and then re-integrate what those traumas mean so they have less impact on their lives today. There is nothing more rewarding and inspiring for us than to witness someone find relief from traumatic events and negative self-beliefs, that at times have felt insurmountable. It is an incredible honor to be a part of these healing journeys.
