September 2024: Letter from the Director

Writer's picture: Bass WolfBass Wolf
Dear Friends of SARA,

I relish the opportunity to reflect on Fiscal Year 2024 and to share a few highlights with you. SARA collects data – numbers and narratives – to assess our programs. Using service numbers, demographics, and client surveys, we can inform decisions around program adjustments and service enhancements.

With your support this year, we:

  • Provided 247 survivors (adults and youth) with 4082 service sessions
  • Provided 1,090 hours of trauma therapy
  • Responded to 410 hotline calls
  • Participated in 197 Community Engagement activities including events, multidisciplinary team meetings, training for allied professionals, and presentations.

These numbers are only part of the picture. Client experiences and the unmet needs of our community are paramount in a holistic view.

What clients are saying about our work:

“SO grateful for your services!! And so grateful for [my therapist]- she is an amazing educator.”

"[My advocate] is an amazing person. She went above and beyond to help me through everything that happened. I will always be grateful for everything you have done for me. [My advocate] gave me excellent directions how to go about all the situations. She is excellent at following up with everything and finding contacts to help with certain situations. My mom has said the same thing about [her]. Again, thank you so much for everything that you have done for me and my family.”

"[My therapist] is simply amazing. She encourages me in our sessions by allowing me to be me. I am so grateful for her she is a part of the reason, of me being super successful on my healing journey. Thank God for SARA, Thank God for [her]!”

There is still much work to be done. Thank you for investing in our mission to eliminate sexual violence and its impacts in our communities.

With gratitude,

Bass Wolf
Executive Director
