As we continue to receive updates regarding coronavirus, SARA would like to inform survivors, community partners, and supporters that we are making temporary changes to our services.
All of us at SARA believe strongly in our work to support survivors of sexual violence, to build skills for prevention, and to conduct outreach to our community. As with many of our community partners, our office is currently closed and staff is working remotely.
We are following current guidance and will reassess this decision regularly. We will provide updates based on the most recent information available.
Our office phone is still available Monday – Friday from 9 am – 5 pm at 434-295-7273.
Our hotline is available 24/7 at 434-977-7273.
We are in regular contact with our clients and community partners to support survivors and their families. We are here to serve you in the best way that we can.
We often hear from survivors – I want things to get back to normal. It’s hard to know when things will get back to normal, so for now we are adapting, tapping into our support systems, and persisting. Just as we work with survivors to help them find hope and healing, we offer that in our own way to each of you. Tap into your support systems and be kind to yourself and each other.
There are many resources available for updates on COVID19 as well as resources available to cope with the stress. Our local Community Mental Health and Wellness Coalition created this flyer of tips to reduce stress during this time; please share it with friends and family.
